As one of the final parcels of land within the dockyard, the area around Mast Slip is scheduled for development
The planned development of the Chatham Maritime regeneration area includes the H1 Riverside parcel, which extends over 2.7 ha, and Brunel Site.

The Riverside site includes the area around Mast Slip that has been the home for the RNSA, Royal Engineers Yacht Club, Medway Sea Cadets for much of the past decade and more recently the Sea Scouts. It has additionally hosted meetings for the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain.
Homes England has awarded the development contract to Countryside Partnerships, who are expected to develop the land for mixed use and build approximately 274 residential properties and 11,000 sq ft of commercial premises.

Countryside will also be required to ensure that Mast Slip will be integrated into the planned development, with the requirement for the area to be managed and maintained effectively and safely giving access as an active riverside open space.
As the organisation which has been responsible for the maintenance of the site as a resource of almost 14 years, we believe that we are best placed to take on the day to day responsibility for fulfilling that commitment.
